Well, well. The world is changing. The most famous chef’s are British. Danish wine makers are producing high quality wine (in Denmark):

I don’t think you should go to Germany for the red wine at all. Cars, yes, philosophers, yes. Red wine? You might as well visit England or Denmark…

Philip – Yes I know – I really missed a lot of the good presentations friday which was frustrating – thanks to SAS :-(

And there were definitely a lot of intelligent comments to the future of PR in the participation age at the conference – and you are right to point to the fact that I think the main challange for PR is going be the loss of control and command.

And I think you are right once again – one should not go to Germany for the red wine alone :-)

It is such a shame that you missed Elizabeth Albrycht’s opening contribution which very much focused on the networking possibilities of the new social software. I would also suggest that the comments Swaran and I made about the move away from command and control PR would resonate with what, I think, are your interests.

PS I’m glad you used an Italian expression – I really enjoyed being in Stuttgart but, for me, you don’t go to Germany for the wine!

Kanon idé – jeg er med – og jeg skriver til tyskerne og italienerne fra konferencen i Stuttgart og fortæller dem om initiativet – de sad nemlig også og mente, at tysk rødvin sådan generelt set var temmelig kedeligt :-)

Hej Morten – selv tak – det var et virkelig godt program I havde skruet sammen til e-handelsprisen

Og mht. tysk rødvin, så prøvede vi skam den lokale fredag aften – og den ar ikek dårlig – men de gode er nogle andre :-)

Jeg er helt sikker på, at der findes virkelig god tysk rødvin – problemet er nok bare, at man ikke kender deres klassifikationssystem og derfor ikke aner, hvad man skal gå efter.

Mht tysk rødvin. For et år siden ville jeg hellere dø nysgerrig, men Christian Peytz, som jeg har stor respekt for, taler gerne og ofte om tyskernes skjulte talenter, så måske skulle vi give det en chance. Vinen kan kun blive bedre end maden.

Hello Philip – thanks for your comment.

I just said in the blogpost (and sorry about the danish language!) that one of the attendees taught me the italian expression: “It is not a bad wine – but good wines are other wines” And that pretty much sums it up for me.

There were some interesting presentations of research on blogging and I really enjoyed that – but the panel that I was part of saturday was in my opinion not taking us any further.

In generel I was a bit surprised that PR people are still focusing on “gossip” and “diaries” and “self expression” in blogs. If you understand what is happening on blogs you realize that the interesting part is the networking part – blogging is about finding the others and sharing mutual interest.

And of course it is true that on some weblogs the social focus is gossip or me-me-me – but that is not the format – that is the content. And what we should focus on is how the format will change communication!

You are the hard blogging scientist? I really think that is a cool idea/project – making it even more cool for scientists to share knowledge on weblogs. I will blog about it later!
